  Jone: Where do you live?
  Ji Wei :I live on a farm. What about you?
  JOne: I live on a farm too. What is your farm like?
  Ji wei: The farm isn’t big. My parents grow rice and wheat. The sky is blue and the hill is green. Jone: Do you like it?
  Ji Wei: Certainly. Can you tell me something about your farm?
  Jone: On my farm, there is a lake. I always go fishing there in the summer and skating there in the winter. We always grow corn and wheat. Which do you like better, the country or the city?
  Ji wei: I think the country is more beautiful than the city. In the city, I can’t hear the animals. In the country I can hear birds sing and sheep bleating.

语音教学建议
  oo组合在单词中的发音规律不明显,建议教师自己总结规律如:
  A good cook looks book. 一个好厨师看书。这些词中的 oo组合都发短元音/u /的音,便于学生记忆。

词汇教学
  人教社教学用书p35-36的词汇教学dingbat可以与该单元语法重点(比较级与最高级)相结合进行。如:
  1)A dingbat is something that is more beautiful than all the paper flowers and dry flowers.(It is the real/ fresh flower.
  2)A dingbat is something that goes fatster than the bike and the truck,but it is something that goes more slowly than the plane.(It is the car)
  3)You like fresh and clean air, so a dingbat is something that you like better than the city.(It is the country)
  4)A dingbat is something that is good at keeping the home, you like it better than the cat or the chicken.(It is the dog)

教学设计方案

Lesson 13

Period: The First Period

Content: Lesson thirteen

Properties: Tape recorder, overhead projector.

Teaching Objectives: Students should master.
  1. the comparative and superlatives of adverbs.
  2. the dialogue and useful expressions
  3. the comparative forms of long adjectives.

Language Focus:
  1. the comparative and superlative forms of adverbs
   fast - faster - the fastest well - better - the best

  2. the comparatives of long adjectives
   interesting - more interesting

  3. useful expressions
  ① have to
   eg. Do you have to clean the house now?
   Where do I have to stay?
   They don't have to do it now.
   The boy has to leave very early.
  ②kind, a kind of, all kinds of, what kind of …
   eg. I meet all kinds of people every day.
   What kind of flowers do you prefer?
   This is only one kind of the tea we sell.
  ③feed, to give food to (animals, etc)
   eg. Mary was feeding his dog when I came in.

Teaching Procedures:
 I. Organizing the class
  Greeting and a duty report.

 II. Revision
  1. To read some words on the cards, "black, celebrate, twelve, second, land, hungry, another, son, matter, breakfast, heavy, many, any, family, young, country.
  2. Dictate some words learnt
  "dinner, turkey, celebrate, harvest, Thanksgiving, get together, bright"
  3. To explain some words in English: "dinner, turkey"

 IIII. Leading - in
  Use the overhead projector to show the picture in the book. Students describe it and guess what they are going to learn about the picture, explain words they may use to describe the picture. "Some animals can find food themselves but some can't. They wait for people to give them food. People give them food to eat, this is called "feed the animals" "In the picture, there are dogs, cows, hens, sheep, not only one kind, there are many kinds of them."

 IV. Practice
  Play the tape for the students to listen and check their answers. Explain the comparative of long adjectives. Give more examples, "My coat is beautiful. Her coat is more beautiful than mine."
  Play the tape again for students to read after the tape, then act it out in front of the class in pairs.

 V. Presentation
  Call three students to the front and say, "Mary works hard. Lisa works harder than Mary. Lucy works harder than Lisa. Lucy works hardest of the three."
  Say another group of sentences and get the students to repeat, "Linda gets up early. Karren gets up earlier than Linda. Green gets up earliest of all."
Then students look at the picture and read after the tape.

 VI. Exercise
  1.Ask questions:
  The students have to finish their homework first.
  ① Who …?
  ②What …?
  ③General question.
